On behalf of myself and the staff of the Research and Consultation Center at The University of Benghazi, I welcome the esteemed visitors to the center’s website, part of The University of Benghazi online portal.

The Research and Consultation Center at Benghazi University is one of Libya’s most important and oldest scientific research institutions. Established in 1973 as the “Center for Studies and Research,” it was renamed on January 13, 1977, becoming the “Research and Consultation Center.” Since then, the center has been a key institution of expertise in Libya.

The center specializes in developing a general plan for scientific research and publication in various fields serving economic and social development purposes, in collaboration and coordination with other bodies responsible for scientific research. The center aims to conduct scientific research in various scientific disciplines related to the country’s development sectors and to publish them. It also aims to organize scientific conferences, seminars, and training courses that serve society and its institutions. Moreover, the center seeks to provide expertise and consultations in various scientific fields.

Throughout its rich scientific and research journey from 1973 to 2020, the center’s activities have focused mainly on conducting scientific studies and research, totaling 77 activities. It has organized 81 conferences, seminars, and workshops, and conducted 14 surveys and opinion polls. As for publications, it has issued 27 scientific books and research papers, and organized 101 training courses. All this is in addition to numerous lectures aimed at raising societal awareness and promoting scientific culture.
